Training Ride to Top of Mount Laguna, near Julian CA

On our free time at the Voyager's Men's retreat, Pat, Jim and Ed, road the Sunrise Highway to the top of Mt Laguna, with a great view of Anza Borrego  desert below. At the top we met a couple who were hiking. We talked to them about our trip and learned that John Sorensen also works with wounded warriors - per John

"That’s a great cause you all are a part of.  We do a lot of work with Wounded Warriors Homes here in San Diego, ourselves, and it’s always great to see our veterans getting the help and support they deserve."

Greg (HighMark.US.com) read the article in the Daily Pilot about 6 over 60 cycling to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. He contacted a client of his, Tom Doran, this being a favorite cause of Tom at HelmetMan. Tom decided to generously provide each of the 6 riders with new top of the line bicycle helmets  This week, we all went to their office and got sized for new helmets. We are very grateful for this gesture. Below is a picture of Jeff, at HelmetMan where we were measured.

Our Toyota Tundra and Toy Hauler

Dale picked up the Toy Hauler trailer with his Toyota Tundra. He is getting it prepared for our trip!

Camp Pendelton Wounded Warrior Battalion Visit 3/20/13

On Thursday 3-20 Dale and Randy met with Sgt. Ron Gomez of the Camp Pendelton Wounded Warrior Battalion and got a tour of the workout facility.  Unfortunately the bike riders that were going to meet us there were turned around at the Las Pulgas Gate due to training on base.  Another ride date is being scheduled in the near future to ride with the Wounded Warrior group on base.
